Vet Consultations at Sorell Veterinary Centre
Visiting the vet shouldn’t be stressful for you or your pet. At Sorell Veterinary Centre, we aim to make every consultation calm, welcoming and informative, so you feel confident about your pet’s health and the care they receive.
Arrival
When you arrive, our friendly administration team will greet you and help get your pet checked in. We’ll record your pet’s weight before your consultation, as this helps us monitor their health and ensure accurate medication doses if needed.
If your pet is unwell, our team will act quickly. Pets showing signs of serious illness will be taken straight through to our treatment area for prompt assessment.
If your pet is coughing or showing symptoms that may be contagious, please let our staff know before bringing them inside, we’ll guide you on the safest way to enter.
For everyone’s safety, please ensure dogs are on a lead and cats are in an enclosed carrier.
During Your Consultation
Your veterinarian will perform a thorough nose-to-tail physical examination and discuss any concerns you have. Routine procedures such as vaccinations, parasite checks or nail trims may be completed during the appointment where appropriate.
If your pet needs further tests, medication, treatment or hospitalisation, your vet will guide you through the options and answer any questions. We encourage you to ask anything — our goal is for you to feel informed and comfortable every step of the way.
Ongoing Care for a Healthy Life
Regular check-ups play an important part in keeping your pet happy and healthy. We love seeing our patients, even if you’re just walking by with them! Ongoing care such as parasite prevention, weight monitoring and nail clipping can help prevent issues before they become serious.
